Kurt Deutscher is the founder and principal consultant at NetRaising, a web services company based in Portland Oregon USA.
Kurt has been developing websites with ExpressionEngine (EE) since the software was first released and continues to work with it daily. He has been the lead developer on over 150 EE based sites and the team at his company launches a new EE site an average of every 10 days. These websites include diverse and sometimes complex technical functionality, are hosted in multiple environments and serve content to diverse market segments.
In the course of creating and maintaining all these EE-based websites, Kurt has trained and worked with hundreds of webmasters and web publishers. He’s seen both how the software performs in daily use and how hundreds of people interact with it.
Kurt maintains a close working relationship with the team at EllisLab, the creators of EE, and served as the company’s Chief Technology Evangelist during 2008. He is actively engaged as an ExpressionEngine consultant and is a “charter” member of the ExpressionEngine ProNetwork.
Kurt spent over a decade working in public education before serving in a number of executive, management, fund-development and leadership roles in diverse organizations including Volunteers of America, Earth Share, United Way, the Oregon Zoo and public radio. He has been a small business owner for over 20 years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Communications from Concordia University and is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and past chair of the Multnomah Education Service District Foundation.
